Did a crime take place in the Vatican during the Synod of the Family?

From Fr. Z., a tale of theft right in the Vatican, read on:

I have wanted to write about this for soooooo long now.
Kathnet broke this, in German HERE.
Remember the Five Cardinals Book™? Remaining in the Truth of Christ: Marriage and Communion in the Catholic Church helped to turn the tide – in a good way – during last October’s Synod of Bishops.  It was simultaneously released in English, Italian, French, German and Spanish.  It is going to be issued in: Polish, Portuguese, Hungarian, Croatian, Slovak, and Czech. It contains essays of five cardinals, of the archbishop secretary of the Vatican congregation for the Oriental Churches, and of three scholars direct at the notions suggested by Walter Card. Kasper in the opening discourse of the consistory in February 2014.  It blew the Kasper proposals and arguments out of the water.
You will also remember that Synod members were up in arms because of the manipulations and machinations of the staff of the Synod office.  Remember all the controversies about whether texts of speeches would be released?  About what could be reported?  About how the mid-term report was produced?  About certain strange paragraphs that didn’t reflect the discussions of the Synod?
There’s more.

Barona, you probably won't agree with this. I too am dismayed by the petty theft of those fine books. But I remember reading that Pope Francis himself did not want the books distributed to the synod fathers before the synod. This made sense to me because they probably contain the conclusions the synod is supposed to come up with. However, I ran Catholic Discussion Groups for many many years, and I would not want everyone in the group to have a handy dandy cheat sheet with the answers at the beginning of the meeting. They would learn nothing! The discussion was supposed to be an effort to understand the topic. We had a short opening talk, then people would break the talk down to their own level verbally. Then the Holy Spirit would work on your heart. Surely, this principle should apply to the Synod on the Family. Surely, Pope Francis would want everyone to discuss and pray about the issue for a year so that the Holy Spirit could work on them. Those bad paragraphs in the interim document put in by the liberals were a lack of trust in the providence of God. That and the theft of the books were childish actions. God laughs at such things. But the conservatives also lacked trust in the providence of God by handing out handy dandy cheat sheets (Remaining in the Truth of Christ) before the synod contrary to Pope Francis wishes. Jesus Christ said He would be with the Church until the End of Time. And no one's shenanigans will interfere with that. God bless you. Susan Fox www.christsfaithfulwitness.com
